Post Road Iron Works
Post Road Iron Works has been one of the most exciting projects we've ever had the good fortune to take part in. The firm's retail location in Greenwich, Connecticut appears at first-glance to be a humble little fireplace and antique hardward outlet. That is, until one walks through the office and out into a factory large enough to repair the fuselage of a commercial jet, all overlooking 10+ acres of railroad siding and stacks and stacks of steel. After years of neglecting their marketing, Post Road Iron asked us to help guide them into the 21st century of online promotion.
We started by updated the logo, simplifying and unifying elements with a 1920's "retro" typeface. We created variatons that fit the firm's work and style. We built out a very complex and detailed website featuring hundreds of projects. We combed through thousands of photographs, retouching, cropping and color-correcting as we went. We interviewed dozens of stakeholders and crafted descriptions, specifications and credits for large-scale commercial, residential and institutional projects throughout the New York area.
For projects too new to have photography on hand, we set up location shoots to document the work and the finished projects. This presented opportunities to be present to photograph Post Road Iron's amazing work during construction phases at the new Yankee Stadium, the 911 Memorial pavillions in lower Manhattan, the World Trade Center Oculus, the new Whitney Museum of American Art, and many other locations.
